My mom started teaching me music almost as soon as I started talking. She taught me how to sing and gave me piano lessons for a couple of years, then I picked up the drum sticks when I was 12 after trying guitar and bass. I learned to play drums starting with worship music in the church band then moved on to alternative rock, pop, funk, jazz, punk rock, and other genres throughout my teens and 20's.

My goal with music is to make beautiful songs for people to rock out to, and push the limits of my playing and creativity. I like to think I can elevate the emotions and impact of a song with my drumming, so that's what I try to do. I love meeting people and hearing their stories while traveling the world, but Texas will always be the home base.

Influences:

mewithoutYou, Bayside, As Tall As Lions, Wilco, Rx Bandits, Bright Eyes, Cold War Kids, Bomb The Music Industry, Band Of Horses, Copeland, Death Cab For Cutie, The Mountain Goats, Motion City Soundtrack, The Shins, John Mayer, Radiohead, Manchester Orchestra, The Mars Volta, The National, Polar Bear Club, The Wonder Years, and many others.

I'd like to thank:

  • My parents, for putting up with my drumming for all those years, and for buying me my first drumsticks and drum set.

  • Kolton, Ryan and Stephen for being awesome

  • Robert Snyder for recording and mixing the first full length album I've ever played drums on, and making me sound damn good.

  • Jacob for hanging out and helping us sell merch, even though the money sucks.

  • Tim Fox for teaching me how to play drums when I was just a nerdy 12 year old.

  • All our friends, fans, and bands that support us and spread the word about our music. Thanks!
